Managing Recruitment and Job Applications in Odoo 17

Post job openings, manage candidates, schedule interviews, and streamline hiring decisions — all within Odoo 17's Recruitment module.

Enabling the Recruitment Module

To manage hiring through Odoo:

Apps → Install "Recruitment"

This adds recruitment workflows, job postings, and applicant pipelines into your HR system. You can also connect it to your website for external applications.


Creating and Publishing Job Positions

Start here:

Recruitment → Job Positions → Create

Fill in:

  • 📌 Job Title and Description
  • 🏢 Department and Manager
  • 📍 Office Location
  • 🧩 Number of open positions

Once saved, click "Go to Website" to publish the job online. Odoo supports customizable job pages and form submissions.


Tracking Applications and Resumes

When candidates apply, their details automatically appear in:

Recruitment → Applications

Each application record includes:

  • 👤 Candidate name, email, and phone
  • 📄 Resume and cover letter
  • 🤍 Source (website, referral, job board)

You can assign applicants to recruiters and track all communications in one place.


Managing the Hiring Pipeline

Use the drag-and-drop Kanban view to manage hiring stages:

  • 📥 New
  • 🧠 Phone Screen
  • 💬 Interview
  • 📝 Offer Sent
  • ✅ Hired / ❌ Rejected

Customize stages per job role and add automated triggers (e.g., notify HR, create follow-up tasks).


Scheduling Interviews and Internal Notes

Each application lets you:

  • 📅 Schedule interviews (single or panel)
  • 📌 Add private notes (e.g., feedback, questions)
  • 📤 Send email responses or interview invites
  • 📎 Attach portfolios, reference letters, or assignments

Interview forms can be customized per department or role.


Sending Offers and Converting to Employee

When ready to hire:

  • 📤 Send offer letters via email or PDF
  • 🧷 Collect digital signatures (if integrated)
  • ➕ Click "Create Employee" to move the candidate to HR records

The new employee is added to your HR database with all linked documents and history from the recruitment process.
