Should I choose Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or my own server?
Odoo Online is the simplest: Odoo runs everything, but you cannot install custom code. Odoo.sh hosts your own Git branches with staging environments, which suits databases with custom modules. Self-hosting gives full control and is the only option for Community without a subscription, in exchange for doing your own backups, monitoring and upgrades.
Can I upgrade straight from Odoo 13 to 17?
Yes. Odoo's upgrade service converts a dump from any supported earlier version in one run, so you do not have to step through each release. The conversion handles standard data; custom modules and anything built in Studio have to be made compatible for the target version, and the result should be tested before go-live.
How long will Odoo 17 be supported?
Odoo maintains the three most recent major versions. With Odoo 19 released, 17 is in the last part of that window: fine to keep running, but new projects should start on a current release and databases still on 17 should have an upgrade planned. Self-hosted Community users get no patches once a version leaves support.
How many users do I have to pay for?
Community costs nothing per user.
