Odoo 18's Sales app carries a deal from quotation to order to invoice without re-entering anything: a confirmed quotation becomes a sales order, which reserves stock in Inventory and generates the invoice in Invoicing. Quotations are sent as a portal page where the customer can sign online and pay a deposit, and pricelists handle customer-specific and quantity-based pricing. Sales is a Community app.
Whether you're a wholesaler, B2B service provider, or eCommerce seller, managing your sales efficiently is key to growth. The Odoo 18 Sales module simplifies everything — from quoting and order tracking to invoicing and performance analysis.
With a clean interface and full integration across your business, your team can work faster and more accurately, reducing paperwork and increasing revenue.

Questions we get asked
Can customers sign and pay a quotation online in Odoo 18?
Yes. A quotation can require an online signature, an online payment, or both, and the customer does it from the portal link in the email rather than printing and scanning anything. You can ask for the full amount or for a percentage as a down payment. Once the condition is met, Odoo 18 confirms the quotation into a sales order automatically.
How do pricelists work in Odoo 18 Sales?
A pricelist is a set of rules attached to customers. Each rule can fix a price, apply a discount, or compute a formula from the sales price or the product cost, and can be limited to a product, a category, a minimum quantity or a date range. The customer's pricelist applies as you add order lines, and you can still override an individual price.
Can I set an expiry date on an Odoo 18 quotation?
Yes. Every quotation has an expiration date, and a quotation template can fill it in automatically so nobody has to remember. After that date the portal link no longer lets the customer confirm, and the quotation shows as expired in your list so it stops inflating the open pipeline. Extending it is a matter of changing the date and sending it again.
What is the difference between the Sales app and Invoicing in Odoo 18?
Invoicing is the accounting side — customer invoices, vendor bills, taxes and payments — and works on its own. Sales adds everything before the invoice: quotation templates, pricelists, sales orders, delivery and invoicing policies, and the link to Inventory. Both are Community apps, and installing Sales does not replace Invoicing; the sales order simply produces the invoice that Invoicing then handles.
Can Odoo 18 invoice only part of an order?
Yes, and the invoicing policy on the product sets the default. Ordered quantities bills the whole line as soon as the order is confirmed; delivered quantities bills only what has actually shipped, so a partial delivery produces a partial invoice and the rest stays to invoice. You can also raise a down-payment invoice for a fixed amount or a percentage before anything ships.
